Simon Woodward

Simon is a conceptual fine art photographer currently based in Wiltshire in beautiful England. An art lover with a thriving imagination from a young age he always knew that he would work within the creative industry. His interest in photography began in the winter of 1998 when he received a camera as a gift from his family. Many years of experimentation and practice followed, then he began pursuing a full time career in the summer of 2003. Simon keeps his passion of all things beautiful and strange ever present in his work, creating images that transport the viewer to strange new worlds. By using painterly techniques as well as the square format, traditional photographic properties are replaced by otherworldly elements. He uses digital compositing techniques to create complex alternative realities. Seeking to expose the beauty of the familiar whilst offering a new surreal narratives and thought provoking juxtapositions. Striving to capture the unique story inside each of his subjects. He is an award winning photographer and his work has gained the respect of his contemporaries for creating surrealistic and playful conceptual photographs of the highest technical standards.
