Who is Mark Galer?
Mark Galer is a highly accomplished professional photographer, educator, and author who has been at the forefront of the digital imaging revolution since its inception. He is renowned for his passion for exploring new photographic possibilities with state-of-the-art imaging technologies. For 14 years, Mark served as a Senior Lecturer and Program Director on the prestigious BA Photography Program at RMIT University in Melbourne. He has authored 30 photography books and over 160 magazine articles for the international publisher 'Focal Press'. Mark was also an Adobe Ambassador for Australia and New Zealand for 14 years and has been a Sony Digital Imaging Ambassador for over a decade, enthusiastically embracing the Mirrorless revolution. Mark's love of travel was ignited during his world motorcycle circumnavigation between 1986-1988, during which he wrote and illustrated articles for the news media, motorcycling press, and charitable publications. His work has been published in numerous international publications, and he has exhibited his personal work, including at the Lumens festival in 2012, where it was screened in Suzhou, Jiangsu, and Federation Square, Melbourne. Mark is an expert on both capture and post-production workflows, and he generously shares this knowledge on his personal website. While the majority of his work is commercial, he also produces personal abstract collections, such as TimeScapes. With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Mark Galer has made a significant impact on the world of photography and continues to inspire and educate photographers around the globe.
